This has been a blessed and busy time.
1. Conference
My family and I just returned from the city of Limeira, about 2 1/2 hours from São Paulo. The church there held a Family Conference. I was asked to speak twice. My first message was "The True Dangers of the Internet." I emphasized that the real problem these days is how people use the Internet. The Internet is a tremendous tool, but is just as powerful in the hands of the devil, and if we are not careful, it can destroy us.
The second message was on "How to Evangelize Your Children to Make True Decisions." I had written an article for our website
www.ConhecendoDeus.com.br that formed the basic outline for the message. The intent was to encourage parents to have a truly Christian home so that it provides the right environment for belief in Christ for their children.
The pastor of the church is missionary Garry Tyler (Jeremy's dad). The church has gone through some recent struggles, but is now turning the corner, and showing great signs of growth. We were very glad to be there and thank the Lord for the time spent.
2. Baptism
We returned from the conference to our first baptismal service since taking over this church here in São Paulo. A 13-year-old girl named Suzanne had come to me a couple weeks ago after the service expressing an earnest desire to be baptized. You can read more about it in our
photos section, but I want you to know that she has made a tremendous impact in her family. Because of her testimony and baptism this Sunday, not only is her whole family attending, but also her uncle and aunt (with their baby) are planning on attending too!
We are tremendously happy for this progress, and ask you to earnestly pray for the Lord's blessings on all the efforts in the São Paulo Baptist Church.
3. Campo Belo
Jeremy and I have returned to Campo Belo because of the publishing house of Missionary Jim King. We will be here until Thursday. Today we had our first meeting with the other men involved. Things went very well, and we are looking forward to utilizing more technology to further the progress here.
Please keep us in prayer. We hope this will be profitable for the extended distribution of good Christian literature both in book format and online.
